Capturing the Beauty of Everyday Moments

... a little more about photography-based oil paintings.
Photography-based oil paintings capture real moments in time and offer a unique opportunity to think purposefully about creatively investing in the lives of those we love.  How will we choose to remember, reflect
and honor the moments we have been gifted in life?  How will we choose to invest those gifts in others?

Whether old memories or new - I'll paint them for you!  Your favorite photographs can become beautiful oil paintings.  I consider it a privilege to be invited to share in some of your favorite memories and a joy to shine fresh light on significant moments in your life.  To see examples of my work, in addition to currently available oil paintings, you may take a look below.  The photographs used as reference are shown next to each painting.  I welcome the opportunity to share a conversation with you about your ideas.  Simply drop me a note to request more information or to set up an appointment.

In the paintings featured on the easel you are sharing in the first fishing trip these boys had with their father.

Gone Fishin'

Treasure Seeker

This oil painting was done using a pallete knife and brushes while the one below was done using only  brushes.

I love to watch the way our children explore the world around them; full of anticipation and in search of treasure.

A Boy and His Shovel

Seeing this painting takes me back to the day my husband and I spent hiking on the trails of the San Antonio Mountains. The views and the solitude were breathtaking.  This painting was done using a pallette knife and brushes.

This was a fun painting to do after spending a weekend camping with friends.  I took this photo of the father and son walking back to shore after having spent a couple hours surfing.

The Homestead Series

A meaningful project that I have had the privilege to work on has been the Homestead Series. Selected from original black and white photographs, these paintings depict our family's homestead in the Sandhills of Nebraska over several generations while retaining a sense of historic nostalgia.
